fusing glass – beginner’s class

One Day Introductory Glass Fusing Class usually held on a Saturday once a month. In this class you can produce a number of objects such as glass bowls of various shapes, coasters, wall hangings, jewellery – almost anything within the area of kiln space provided (50cm x 50cm). We are generous with the materials that we allow you to use in comparison with other classes. As a result you cover more in a day than other classes can in an entire weekend or over a series of evening classes.  And it’s not prescriptive, allowing for more creativity.

There is a limit of 6 people per workshop enabling faster learning.

The advantage of a small class is that you can experiment with many different effects and have an experienced adviser on hand at each stage.  There is a minimum age limit for insurance purposes of 16 years or older unless accompanied by a guardian who is also booked onto the course.

Lessons are taught by Eleanor Watson & Richard Paton with over 20 years experience.

Areas covered: design, glass cutting, fused glass compatibility, firing cycles, many decorative techniques.

The fusing and slumping in the kiln will take place after the workshop and the results can be collected or posted at Post Office rates.

Price = £145 for the day, materials included (10:00am – 4:30pm).

There is a minimum age limit for insurance purposes of 16 years or older unless accompanied by a guardian who is also booked onto the course.

See the calendar for upcoming class dates.

We also sell gift vouchers for classes or workshops. Please call the studio on 020 7249 1565 or visit the shop.
